In the past, the County had used metal structures for sun protection, but decided to upgrade to these beautiful Single Cantilevers from Shade Systems in vibrant colors. After consulting with the Shade Systems team, the Bernalillo County park planners realized fabric shade cools the air better than solid structures which trap rising heat. They chose the Single Cantilever design from Shade Systems since support columns are to the back of the structure, leaving unobstructed open space near the water play areas for added safety.
