Le Meridien Amman Conducts a Fire Drill to Maintain Safety Measures in Case of Emergency
Amman, Jordan, June 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Le Meridien Amman, a subsidiary of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, organized a fire drill involving all hotel employees. The purpose of the drill was to provide tactical experience, sufficient knowledge and training for the employees as well as empower them to calmly face and handle all circumstances that might arise during emergencies, especially fire. The fire drill is part of a quarterly procedure and is a manifestation of Le Meridien Amman’s continuous efforts to ensure that it is in line with its goals on safety and security, especially in regards to the technical aspects and equipment.
The management team of Le Meridien Amman notified all guests of the routine exercise well in advance, so it does not cause any disturbance or inconvenience. The emergency response team evacuated all associates using microphones to the designated assembly point located in the parking lot next to the hotel. Every head of department performed a head count to make sure all associates were safe and accounted for.
The Head of the Security Department; Mr. Attallah Awad, commented on the successful routine practice by saying; “Our main priority in the hospitality industry is ensuring the safety of our guests and providing a safe working environment for our employees. This is portrayed in the scenarios and security plans that focus on the principle of 'better safe than sorry.'”
He also added that the guest rooms, meeting rooms, and newly renovated entrance are all equipped with the latest smoke detectors and fire-fighting equipment that are in accordance with international standards and guarantee the safety of the people and public and personal property.
