British Open Pub Celebrates Fourth of July with Beckham Baby Party
The birth of David Beckham and Posh Spice’s first all-American girl means a British Open Pub party with Beckham Baby Watch, signature drinks "The Silver Spoon" and "The Cigar."
Scottsdale, AZ, June 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- British Open Pub is marking Fourth of July by celebrating the birth of British super couple David and Victoria Beckham’s fourth child, scheduled to arrive on July 4th.
According to the English newspaper the Daily Mail, the British soccer icon and the former Posh Spice are commemorating the anniversary of their 1999 wedding (also on July 4th) with the birth of their fourth child in the city they now call home – Los Angeles. The couple moved to America in 2007 when Beckham joined the Las Angeles Galaxy soccer team.
“As Americans, we don’t have royalty, but we have a long-standing tradition of treating our celebrities as royalty,” said Gregg Troilo, owner of the British Open Pub. “The birth of Posh Spice and David Beckham’s fourth child in America on the Fourth of July is the perfect excuse for us to do what we do best – throw a party.”
To celebrate, British Open Pub is offering two signature drinks, “The Silver Spoon” and “The Cigar.”
“The Cigar” is a take on the traditional Pimm’s Cup – Pimm’s No. 1 British Sweet Gin mixed with ginger ale and cucumber and served over ice for $5. A classic drink, it’s served at Wimbledon, regattas and other British events. “The Silver Spoon” will consist of either Cuervo 1800 Silver for $5 or a Cuervo 1800 Silver margarita for $6.50.
“These drinks are the perfect way to celebrate the birth of our little all-American Brit, and they’ll be available all day,” Troilo said.
Patrons can also put in their best guess for the time of baby Beckham’s birth. The winner will receive a free dinner at British Open Pub.
“We’ll have a Baby Beckham Watch going on all day,” Troilo said. “Then we’ll have a little celebration when she’s born.”
Scottsdale’s British Open Pub, or the “Bop” as regulars call it, has something for everyone. Whether it’s authentic English food like Bangers and Mash, traditional American comfort food, a massive selection of beers from around the world or simply a fun pub to watch the day’s biggest sporting events, the Bop is the spot for foodies and sports fans.
The British Open Pub is located at 1334 N. Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, Arizona, on the southwest corner of Scottsdale and McDowell roads.
