Doctors Express to Celebrate New Location with Community Family Event on July 9
St. Petersburg, FL, June 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Doctors Express officially opened its doors for business on Saturday, June 25, seeing neighborhood patients for coughs, colds, cuts and other ailments. This new urgent care center (located at 1530 4th Street North) will hold its official Grand Opening Community Celebration on Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fun, family-friendly event will feature lively music, interactive performances from Great Explorations Children’s Museum, Music Together, Life Improvement Radio, Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, face painting and free food and beverages from EVOS Restaurants; giveaways and an opportunity to win an iPad2 for one lucky attendee. Attendees can also tour the Doctors Express facility to meet the staff and doctors before they are sick or injured.

Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week, the new Doctors Express Center in St. Petersburg will offer:
• Urgent Care
Doctors Express provides treatment for injuries and illnesses – offering a convenient, lower-cost alternative to visiting a hospital emergency department. Services offered include care for colds, flu, allergic reactions, ear and sinus infections, pneumonia, minor burns, skin rashes, sprains, broken bones, cuts and scrapes, and sports injuries.
• Digital X-Ray Services
The new Doctors Express will be equipped with on-site digital x-ray equipment.
• Lab Work
The new Doctors Express facility’s laboratory, which meets CLIA standards, provides on-site service for the vast majority of tests required by urgent care patients while the patient is in the center. The few tests that cannot be handled on-site are sent out to partner facilities.
• Occupational Health
Doctors Express provides Occupational Health services for employees and employers. These services include treatment for workplace injuries covered by Workers’ Compensation, as well as drug screenings, travel immunizations, pre-employment physicals and work -site flu shots.
• Physician to Physician Relationships
Doctors Express is a complimentary option for those currently seeing their own primary care physician but are in need of urgent care at a time when their own physician may not be available. By coordinating continuing care with a patient’s primary care physician, the center ensures ongoing and effortless follow-up as necessary. For those patients who may not have a primary care physician or specialist, Doctors Express may provide a comprehensive list of referrals.
