Local Company is Recognised as an InterTradeIreland “Business Ambassador” at Event Hosted by Minister Richard Bruton TD
Dublin, Ireland, June 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Big Red Book was recognised as an InterTradeIreland Business Ambassador at a special event held with Minister Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation on Wednesday 1st June in Dublin.
The company was supported by InterTradeIreland through its sales and marketing programme Acumen to increase its sales in Northern Ireland. Their ‘Big Red Book’ software has now become a system of choice for many Northern Irish service and family owned businesses and the firm has ambitious plans for growth and diversification into new markets.
Big Red Book has developed a simple and easy to use computerised software solution to make life easier for both Accountants and their clients. The company has built a successful business based on the simplicity of their product which has been designed specifically for Irish SMEs.
Marc O’Dwyer, Managing Director of Big Red Book explained: “Through the Acumen programme we increased employment in Northern Ireland and significantly increased the level of business we had been doing in the North by 25%. As we embark on the release of our ‘cloud’ Big Red Book product, being an Ambassador will help us on the road to export our accounting solution.”
A group of InterTradeIreland Business Ambassadors were also invited to meet President Mary McAleese at an exclusive reception at Áras an Uachtaráin to make their achievements, where she described the companies as ‘Champions of the future and leaders of change.’
Speaking at the event, InterTradeIreland Chairman Dr David Dobbin said: “We have supported companies right across Ireland, in every county and constituency and we are extremely proud of the examples of enterprise and innovation that are represented by our group of InterTradeIreland Business Ambassadors. We hope that through highlighting the achievements of our SMEs like Big Red Book, we will inspire other local businesses to take advantage of cross-border trade and collaboration opportunities.”
Since 2003, InterTradeIreland’s has helped more than 16,500 companies with cross-border information and services and supported over 2,000 SMEs through its trade and innovation programmes. For every €1 invested in InterTradeIreland, it provides a ten-fold return in business development value.
