The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Releases Podcast on Travelling with Pets
Dr. Phil McHugh Discusses Pet Safety on the Road
Raleigh, NC, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (http://www.ncvma.org) has announced the release of a podcast discussing how owners should travel with their pets during the summer. In the podcast, Dr. Phil McHugh, former President of the NCVMA, explains the best ways for pet owners to travel safely with their pets, especially in light of upcoming summer vacations. During the podcast, McHugh touches on dangerous practices like letting a dog ride in the back of a pickup truck and letting an animal sit on the driver’s lap while on the road.
Quotes:
“It is extremely important that pet owners take their pet’s safety into account when planning a road trip,” said Claire Holley, executive director of the NCVMA. “Dr. McHugh has been helping animals as a veterinarian since 1985, and he knows how dangerous riding in a vehicle can be for an animal. We urge pet owners to listen to this podcast and to think ‘safety first’ for themselves, their families and their pets.”
