Appalachian Underwriters, Inc. Hires Robert Lowery for Its Brokerage Division

Oak Ridge, TN, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Appalachian Underwriters, Inc. (AUI) has hired Robert (Bob) Lowery as a broker for the Carolina region. Lowery brings more than 30 years experience as an E&S broker to the AUI family. He began his career in Atlanta as an underwriter for several E&S companies including working for American Re Insurance prior to relocating to Charlotte, NC. He has held positions as vice president and manager for Hull & Co., as well as holding similar positions with several other Charlotte-based E&S wholesalers. He served twice as president of the North Carolina Surplus Lines Association, and has authored several articles on the E&S industry for various state insurance publications. His respected expertise has garnered numerous speaking engagements at state insurance conventions.
