Governor Hickenlooper Issues Proclamation Ahead of Green Cube Opening
Governor John Hickenlooper has issued a proclamation ahead of the August 2011 opening of North Denver’s first LEED Platinum-certified single-family home.
Denver, CO, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As Denver’s Green Cube Show Home prepares for its August 11 unveiling, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper issued a proclamation commemorating the home’s contribution to sustainable communities in Denver.
“Colorado’s culture of sustainability and conservation are part of its DNA and this project illustrates how community businesses can be leaders in developing affordable green and sustainable homes,” the proclamation states. “The Green Cube’s fundraising support of North High’s Scholarship Foundation to fund an annual scholarship for students wishing to pursue careers in the Green Building Industry will help drive the new green economy.”

The proclamation marks a milestone for the Green Cube Show Home at 3310 Shoshone Street, which is nearing completion and recently announced a full roster of eco-friendly events to benefit an environmental studies scholarship at North High School. On August 11, 2011, the Show Home will officially open to the public for three weeks of education about affordable, sustainable building to include classes, tours, open houses, social events, and special events showcasing the project’s green vendors.
“We’re thrilled that our project has garnered the recognition not just of community members, but government officials who share our commitment to sustainable communities and affordable green building,” says Project Director Rachel Gallegos. “We look forward to welcoming the community in support of North High when the Show Home opens August 11.”
