Double Celebration for Local Legal Recruiter
Manchester-based recruitment agency The Legal Place marked their second anniversary by joining recruitment heavyweights at a roundtable debate held by hosting specialists UKFast.
Manchester, United Kingdom, July 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A Manchester-based recruitment firm is marking its two-year anniversary by joining national recruitment giants in an industry debate.
Dawn Everton, who set up The Legal Place in July 2009, sparred with the likes of Totaljobs, Recruitment Genius and MyPeopleBiz at a recent roundtable debate held by hosting company UKFast.
Everton told the panel that her success as a small firm has "undoubtedly" been helped by the internet but it would never replace the need for human interaction. In her opinion, effective recruitment is facilitated by a good online presence but relies on personal input that can't be replicated online.
She said: "The internet has definitely helped us establish a presence as a specialist firm in Manchester in a relatively short time. But it's not a replacement for meeting the legal community face to face.
"We meet all of our candidates in person to ascertain whether they are right for the role, but also to determine whether they will fit the firm that we're looking to place them with. Law firms in Manchester are so different - one candidate might fit a larger firm but be inappropriate for a smaller firm due to any number of factors. It's important for me to meet everybody to ensure I get the quality I promise to my clients.
"You can only judge whether that person will be the perfect match by meeting them face to face. It's something you know instinctively when you meet someone - you know your client, you know what they are looking for and you use that to gauge whether your candidate will be successful or not."
Since its formation two years ago, The Legal Place has established itself as a specialist recruitment agency, trusted by many of the city's most prestigious legal practices to recruit staff on a permanent, temporary or contract basis.
The Legal Place has recruited partners, solicitors, fee earners, secretaries, legal executives, paralegals, legal accountants and receptionists for clients including George Davies, Davis Arnold Cooper and Berry&Berry.
Founding The Legal Place satisfied Everton’s lifelong dream of working in the legal profession. Aged 13, she embarked on a series of work experience placements with law firms before completing a law degree at university and joining a legal recruitment agency as an office junior.
Everton completed her legal education on a part-time basis, receiving a commendation for her Legal Practice Course, while becoming one of the agency's most successful senior consultants.
She launched The Legal Place with the sole aim of enhancing the success of Manchester's law firms and championing the city's legal expertise on a national stage.
She says: "I'm incredibly passionate about the legal profession and finding the right people with the right character and skill to suit the firms I work with. Operating as a specialist agency means we get under the skin of the legal community in Manchester. It's a bespoke and personalised service that we offer and the reputation we’ve built in two years proves it's working."
The Legal Place celebrates two years in business on 1 July 2011.
