CPAmerica Produces Technology Initiatives
Alachua, FL, July 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Exciting initiatives were unveiled at the recent Technology Roundtable, presented by CPAmerica International in Las Vegas in June.
During the roundtable, CPAmerica revealed the “Community Cloud” initiative. This community would allow member firms to be better equipped for disaster recovery. The Community Cloud would allow firms to synchronize a copy of their server environment into a secure data center where, in the event of a failure, their servers could be turned on and accessed remotely until their local servers were restored.
Along with the cloud, there will be a shared resource pool where CPAmerica members could split the cost of particular IT devices and services, such as sophisticated network vulnerability scanners and penetration testing software.
With approval from the board of directors, these services will be available to CPAmerica member firms later this year.
The roundtable began with two interactive member sharing sessions on Wednesday, June 21 on virtualization and information assurance. These sessions were facilitated by Stephen Grote with J.K. Boatwright & Co., P.C., and Josh Cross, with Maxwell, Locke & Ritter LLP.
Randy Johnston, CPAmerica’s technology consultant with Network Management Group Inc., was the featured speaker. He gave a technology update and spoke about mobile solutions; data encryption; storage solutions; social networking issues and solutions; IT checklists; Office 2010, Acrobat X and alternatives.
