Indie Authors Splashing Down with the Mermaids of Mercon

Las Vegas, NV, July 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- August 12th and 13th The Mermaids of Maui will be hosting the first Annual Mermaid Convention and Awards Ceremony at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Among the usual fare of retailers to be found at this event and the not so usual finned guest attending and performing, you’ll find indie authors, K.L. Parry and Kohana Au.

Hoping to make a big splash in Las Vegas with her debut novel, The Pirate’s Daughter And A King’s Ransom, a YA fiction action adventure, K.L. Parry is also excited to be participating in this event with supporter and fellow writer, author, Kohana Au.

Enthusiast of all things Polynesian, Kohana Au’s most recent work, “Tales of the Mermaids of Waiahuakua - Those of the Sea,” is a collection of Hawaiian legends involving the mermaid along with beautifully rendered images of mermaids done by various artists.

When asked about her expectations for Mercon, Parry responds, “Are you kidding me, I’ll be in my element! How much more fun can it be, I get to share this experience with fellow fans of fiction, fantasy and whimsy. I just hope I can find time to slip away from my booth to visit with the Mermaids.”

Parry’s novel, “The Pirate’s Daughter And A King’s Ransom” is available now in eBook through smashwords.com and will soon be available for purchase through most major ebook retailers. Hardback copies can be purchased through Blurb.com.

Kohana Au’s “Tales of the Mermaids of Waiahuakua” is available in eBook as well as a full -color, soft back edition through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, FriesenPress.com and Ingram’s retailers worldwide.
