Woodshock Music Festival 2011 Scores the Kottonmouth Kings
Woodshock 2011 and the Kottonmouth Kings will both celebrate fifteen years of evolution together; the meat of the event will be served raw by: Bobaflex, Hed PE, Lazarus AD, Downplay, Icon For Hire and others.
Columbus, OH, July 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio will be blazin' on August 5 - 7, 2011, with the Kottonmouth Kings at the 15th annual Woodshock Music Festival.
The Kottonmouth Kings are known for their good vibes and multifaceted music that continues to evolve. Their songs feature psychedelic, hip-hop, punk and reggae, with breezy acoustics, stoney melodies, catchy hooks and crowd rumbling dubstep that will make Woodshock the ultimate "shake-n-bake."
The Kottonmouth Kings and their wildly successful independent label (Suburban Noize Records) have sold millions of albums without the aid of radio or mainstream media. Their independent label allows them to champion the "Legalize-It" cause (originally made famous by Peter Tosh) and skirt bureaucratic red-tape - creating unneutered music.
Fifteen years of enthralling hardcore fans makes Woodshock one of only few rock festivals to stand the test of time.
Woodshock always selects bands that are raw and distorted with blistering riffs that satisfy the core. This year Bobaflex, Hed PE, Lazarus AD, Downplay, Icon For Hire, Legbone, This Blessed Hatred, Dead By Wednesday, 7th Cycle and dozens more will be testament to that but Woodshock continues to diversify and includes several genres of music, as is common with mega-festivals; such as, Coachella, Bonaroo and Lollapalooza. Fortunately, Woodshock is not on the same scale as the mega-festivals and offers affordability, a hassle-free environment and intimate experience.
Woodshock started as a birthday party for Tim Buchenroth and the regular patrons know that aside from the music it's the party and camping in a serene setting that make Woodshock a prized and must-do event every year.
In a recent interview on rock station 99.7 The Blitz in Columbus, Ohio, the band SEVER was asked about Woodshock and stated, "It was awesome...the best weekend of campin, drinkin and the biggest BYOB party you're gonna find."
Woodshock scouts and picks several "local" bands to play every year and has had many relatively unknown bands gain the exposure needed to catapult their careers. There will be approximately 40 bands playing on 2 stages.
Legend Valley is 25 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, adjacent to I-70. Full event details can be found at woodshock.net and legendvalley.net.
