Big Apple Pet Supply to Provide $6,000 in Product to Animal Shelters and Rescues
Facebook Promotion Kicks off Inviting Animal Rescues and Shelters to Register to Win Animal Shelter Product Fund
Hauppauge, NY, July 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Animal shelters across the country are struggling right now to care for animals that have been cast off by their owners. Recent natural disasters including flooding and tornadoes have shelters at capacity and supplies at a minimum.
Steven Spitz, CEO of Big Apple Pet Supply has been using his large number of followers to help animals for close to a year now with his Facebook promotions that have resulted in thousands of dollars in product funding for various animal shelters and rescues. Spitz has decided to raise the bar with the recent desperate need communicated by shelters and rescues across the country.
The $6,000 Animal Shelter Product Fund Contest will launch July 7, 2011 on Facebook, where animal shelters and rescues register and people vote for their favorite animal shelters, with the top three vote-getters receiving the product funding. Animal rescues and shelters can sign up until July 21st, and then voting will begin and run through August 19th. The winner will be announced August 19th. The top vote-getter will receive $3,000 in product funding, second place receives $2,000 and third place $1,000. Big Apple Pet Supply recently asked their animal shelter followers what sort of supplies they are in urgent need of. The response was overwhelming and items desperately needed include: food and water bowls, food, treats, and flea and tick remedies. One comment really drove home the need, “Rescues are not getting many donations this year, so Any and All supplies are welcome.”
“It is heartbreaking to hear about so many shelters and recues in desperate need of basic necessities like food and bowls,” said Steven Spitz, CEO of Big Apple Pet Supply. I feel like I have to do something, so I am doing what I can to make a difference. We will have another $5,000 Animal Shelter Product Fund Contest in the fall to help even more shelters and rescues.
