Specialist K-9 Expands to the United States
Orlando, FL, July 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Brits are coming. The world we live in is one of ever present danger from terrorist threats and general criminal activity. More than ever, dogs are being used in the wars on terror, crime and drug trafficking.
The European breeds, Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds and Dutch Shepherds are recognised internationally as being the best dogs for police work. Most US Police Departments and Federal Agencies prefer European bred dogs – fact. Now, at the request of US Police Departments and Federal Agencies, they are bringing European quality dogs to the USA.
Specialist K-9 will begin US operations based out of Melbourne, FL this month. It begins with a joint LEO training day with the Orlando Police Department on July 16. The event will be held at the Orlando PD Gun Range at 100 Andes Ave, Orlando Fl 32807 and starts at 0800, ending at 1900. All K-9 and non K-9 LEO’s are welcome
“Our aim,” says Training Director Andrew Thompson, “is to bring European quality of breeding and training to the US. It will be cheaper for the US taxpayer than the current system of sending officers to Europe looking for dogs.”
CEO Maurice Barker said that Specialist K-9’s commitment to the US market is long term. “We are in this for the long haul,” he said. “We are the only British company with the solid financial base needed to do this.” Mr. Barker also said “this is a natural extension of the special relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. We are in this together.”
Specialist K-9 also intends to introduce British Military training methodology for explosives and drug detection dogs to US Law Enforcement. This has been extremely well received by K-9 Units throughout the US. A demonstration of British Military bomb dogs will be given at the Orlando event.
Specialist K-9 currently supplies world class police, drug detection, bomb detection dogs and associated handler training services throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Specialist K-9 is an approved US DOD contractor.
