Foundation for a Drug-Free South: Drug Education Saves Lives
The Foundation for a Drug-Free South has been impelling a movement across the Southern region.
Nashville, TN, July 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, 2010 was a banner year for Tennessee in terms of meth lab seizures and drug busts. The state accounted for 75 percent of the total Crystal Meth Seizures in the South-Eastern Portions of the United States of America.
This is why Anne Vallieres, of the Foundation for a Drug-Free South, is fed up with drug dealers. “I need to do something about this,” says Anne.
Vallieres is French Canadian, but has been living in Tennessee with her husband Marc for seven years, where they own and operate a ranch to rehabilitate drug victims.
Since February of 2010, the Vallieres have been travelling to schools and clubs around Tennessee to teach kids the harmful effects of drugs. No scare tactics are used, but there is plenty of information. They have been to over 40 schools in 8 counties and have spoken to thousands of school children. “These children are our future, and they need plenty of helpful guidance,” says Anne.
Just last week, the Vallieres spoke at the Boys and Girls Club in Murfreesboro. Anne told the group, “I don’t know about you guys, but as far as I’m concerned, I don’t want to live in a world full of zombies… so we need to turn this around.”
If you would like a Truth About Drugs Seminar in your school, please call 615-544-5041 or email drugfreesouth@gmail.com.
The Foundation for a Drug-Free South is the local chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, an international education initiative which provides hundreds of thousands of educational booklets for youth and adults alike to learn the hazards of drugs. The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is based in Los Angeles, CA and can be found online at drugfreeworld.org. The Church of Scientology sponsors the Foundation to continue its drug education work.
