Unemployed and Homeless Single Mother Founds NewGeorgiaJobs.com as Last Resort
Down to her last two emergency unemployment checks, a homeless Atlanta single mother has founded a job listing site called NewGeorgiaJobs.com, in hopes of earning money to pay for shelter and to find employment for herself.
Atlanta, GA, July 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Down to her last two emergency unemployment checks, a homeless Atlanta single mother has founded a job listing site called NewGeorgiaJobs.com, in hopes of earning money to pay for shelter and to find employment for herself.
"I guess you can call it a reverse job hunt," says the woman, who for safety purposes identifies herself only by her first name, Lisa. "I've been searching for a job for over a year and have either received no response, or responses from predators looking to steal my identity."
NewGeorgiaJobs.com allows employers to post job advertisements in several hiring categories for a meager amount compared to other job sites in the state. This was done purposely by "Homeless Lisa," in hopes to encourage small to medium sized companies to list their job openings.
"I worked for a large company that downsized in 2010, so I know what its like to just be a number," Homeless Lisa says, "Small businesses need an affordable way to list their job openings, and we need jobs. Its a win-win situation."
NewGeorgiaJobs.com was launched by Homeless Lisa using computers in Fulton and Dekalb public libraries. It is free for use by those seeking employment in the state of Georgia.
