Website of the Year Award for BAR Created by Viridian
The website that Viridian Partnership created for BAR (British Association of Removers) won “Website of the Year” at the Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards 2011.
London, United Kingdom, July 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 7 July.
Apart from the look and feel, and ease of use (a given these days), the judging panel were impressed by two pioneering aspects of the new website:
i) Real-time removal estimates for customers
ii) Inter-member collaborative tools such as the members’ messaging broadcast system, “notice-board” and calendar.
The system lets customers get immediate online estimates for moves and at the same time generates sales leads for BAR members. This appears incredibly simple to users but underneath lies a highly sophisticated app, a bespoke development for BAR. Potential customers can also check out removers by reading comments from other customers about their experience of actual moves involving BAR members. These are streamed live onto the site.
The Trade section of the site helps members interact - enabling them to work on big jobs together, buy/sell vehicles etc. - to their mutual benefit.
These features add enormous value to being a BAR member.
The site management is via a bespoke Content Management System (CMS), minimising the support costs and maximising BAR’s control over their web presence.
The custom-built database that supplies the content for the website also acts as a bespoke Membership Database, replacing BAR’s previous off-the-shelf desktop system. Having a single database that is web-based makes it far easier for the organisation to keep membership information up to date.
David Cranley of Viridian Partnership the agency which developed the solution for the British Association of Removers said: “We set out with BAR to create a highly functional customer-focussed website. So many Association sites are just for members. BAR have made the most of their position as an Association to help end users. This delivers enormous benefits for their members.”
Stephen Vickers, Director General at BAR commented: “Our new website is a giant leap forward – a transformation. It delivers real value to our members and has helped us improve as an Association. Viridian Partnership’s input has been a major factor in the success and recognition we are proud to have achieved.”
The Forum’s Final Judging Panel was impressed by: “...the provision of real time quotes to consumers from members, results in excellent added value by way of new business for BAR members.”
