Temecula, CA, July 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Championship Division The Medal Play Golf Tour visited the beautiful Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula Sunday. “There were some tight battles today,” said tour director Blane Freytag. “The level of play continues to improve as we head into the Summer Sizzle series.” And saw Fred Miller start off hot on the front nine, then hang on for the victory with a fine net 74 to outpace runner-up Shaun Clark by 3 shots.

Russell Gaston of the Gold Division brought his “A” game and renewed confidence in his putter to blow the field away for the win with a net 66. “A new putter and a stroke change really gave me confidence today,” explained Gaston after the round on his fine play. David Onken, Bob Pillow and Tom Taylor all shot net 68’s to force a scorecard playoff for 2nd and 3rd place money with Onken claiming 2nd and Pillow 3rd.

The Silver Division saw Greg Widman find his way back to the winners circle for the second time this year over coming Chuck Thomas, last year’s Silver Division’s Player of the Year and John Maldonado for the victory. Thomas claimed 2nd place money over Maldonado who took 3rd.

The tour returns to action at Desert Willow (Mountain View) in Palm Desert, CA on Sunday, July 17th.
