McDonald Hyundai Announces Hope On Wheels Charity Golf Event Benefiting Children’s Hospital
Denver Hyundai dealership, McDonald Hyundai, has decided to take their fundraising efforts to support Children’s Hospital one step further this year by holding a charity golf tournament.
Denver, CO, July 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- McDonald Hyundai of Denver, Colorado just announced that they will be holding a charity golf tournament at the Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, Colorado for the Hyundai Hope On Wheels campaign benefiting the Children’s Hospital in Denver.
The goal of the golf tournament and Hope On Wheels is to donate $6 million dollars to help children with cancer. Hyundai has been dedicated to this cause since 1998 and continues to grow their efforts every year. The organization started as a local charity in the New England area and has transformed into Hope On Wheels, a non-profit 501(c)(3), that involves over 800 Hyundai dealers from across the nation. Since its beginning, Hope on Wheels has donated $23 million dollars to children’s hospitals across the nation and every time a new Hyundai is sold a donation is made through Hope On Wheels.
This year, there is a new nationwide initiative to raise funds to fight childhood cancer. Hyundai dealers, including our Colorado Hyundai dealership, have pledged to donate a total of $3 million dollars to Hope on Wheels based on vehicles sold during the month of September, which is also National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The $3 million raised by dealerships will be matched by a $3 million contribution from Hyundai Motor America. Through combined efforts, Hyundai will donate a minimum of $6 million in the month of September to children’s hospitals and other non-profit organizations across the country in the form of “Hyundai Hope Grants.” The Hope Grants will sponsor childhood cancer research projects, survivor programs, and other resources designed to improve quality of life for children with cancer.
In support of this cause, McDonald Hyundai is holding this golf tournament on September 19. The tournament will start as a four person scramble format and each golfer that enters will enjoy 18 holes of golf with complimentary tee-bag, range balls, and an awards banquet/dinner. There are five different levels of sponsorship for the event and all proceeds will go directly to Hope On Wheels.
