MediPurpose Partners with Medical Product Design Firm DeviceLab
Relationship Extends MediPurpose's Resources for New Medical Product Development.
Irvine, CA, July 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- MediPurpose, a master distributor and manufacturer of medical products, today formally announced its partnership with DeviceLab, a California contract medical device design and medical product development firm.
The two companies' relationship was established in November 2010 when MediPurpose hired DeviceLab as a consultant to review the design of an existing medical device. The project was expanded earlier this year to include full engineering development and project management of other medical devices, said DeviceLab General Manager Dac Vu, and the relationship has continued to flourish.
After successfully launching its first medical product in 1999, MediPurpose focused most of its first decade on expanding and improving its flagship SurgiLance safety lancet line.
From 2005, the company started expanding its resources in new business development. In 2010, it launched its new babyLance infant heel sticks, and later in the year, it announced the new MediPlus advanced wound care product line. Since then, MediPurpose has continued to explore other opportunities in new business development.
MediPurpose selected DeviceLab as a medical device design and development partner for several critical reasons, said MediPurpose founder and CEO Patrick Yi. "Their experience with medical device design and development, as well as their experience with transfer of design to foreign manufacturers were primary factors for our decision," said Yi.
