Save the Date: ballet tech cincinnati presents the 6th Annual Gala of International Ballet Stars Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center August 11, 2007.
Cincinnati, OH, March 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- ballet tech cincinnati will present its 6th Annual Gala of International Ballet Stars, featuring the best dancers, the best companies and the best choreography from around the globe for one superlative show at the Aronoff Center at 8PM on August 11, 2007. The only International Dance Gala in the Midwest and one of a few in the entire nation, each year the Gala of International Ballet Stars produces headlines such as “Sizzling performers wow Aronoff crowd,” Cincinnati Enquirer and brings audiences to their feet with rousing standing ovations and comments like, “The performance was absolutely awesome” and “the most outstanding local dance performance that I've ever seen.”
The cast is still being finalized. Some of the companies that will be represented include National Dance Company of Spain, National Ballet of Canada, Cincinnati Ballet Company, Paris Opera Ballet, Teatro Argentino de La Plata, and Miami City Ballet. The mission of ballet tech cincinnati is to educate, entertain and inspire by providing diverse and innovative performances that have a phenomenal community impact. Founded in 1997, ballet tech cincinnati is a non-profit 501 (C ) (3) organization located in Kennedy Heights. ballet tech cincinnati opened its sixth Season Series of major dance programs as a resident company at the Aronoff Center and presents about a dozen community performances each year to provide Greater Cincinnati with a new venue for high quality dance performances featuring pre-professional and professional dancers featuring classical and contemporary repertoire, folk dances and a wide variety of artists, dance styles and music. Dance 2 Community Kids community outreach program engages sponsor companies and individuals to partner with them to introduce youth from underserved communities to dance and the Aronoff Center to expand the audience for the arts and downtown Cincinnati venues. Over 1000 children have attended ballets in this outreach. Each year, the Leaping for Literacy Project includes a spring production based on beloved children’s stories to entertain families with children of all ages. This project also includes Cincinnati Arts Association Artists on Tour performances in area schools, free outreach performances in area libraries and bookstores, a poster and poetry contest, and a book giveaway to promote family literacy. Last season, they served over 10,000 audience members, double the audience for the 2004-2005 season. They have the most diverse audience of any Cincinnati area presenter, and they are the only company that presents guest companies, an international Gala, and preprofessional dancers as part of their season series.
