Hensel Phelps, the general contractor building the courthouse is using custom-made window mullion protection from Builders Site Protection. Hensel Phelps chose to use a custom-made corrugated plastic protection after being provided several options by Builders Site Protection.

The courthouse, designed by Richard Meier and Partners, was recently honored as one of the best new federal buildings by the US General Services Administration. The GSA was particularly impressed with the courthouse’s attention to energy efficiency and engaging public spaces. The San Diego Courthouse cost $368 million dollars to build and is expected to open in 2012.
