VMC Consulting Hosts itSMF Presentation on Metrics in Data Center Management
Redmond, WA, July 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- VMC Consulting’s Chuck Hobart is presenting a discussion on metrics on Tuesday, July 19 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm at VMC Redmond as the sponsoring host of the IT Service Management Forum USA itSMF’s Pacific Northwest Local Interest Group meeting.
“Metrics are a key discussion point when talking business management,” noted Chuck Hobart, Data Center Solutions Architect at VMC Consulting. “I am looking forward to showing ways to improve metrics and use them to improve processes and governance.”
The event will take place in the Everest Conference Room at VMC Redmond and will also be shown over Live Meeting. The presentation entitled “Metrics - Or How Iceland had a Carbon Neutral Volcano” will describe the process of managing metrics from inception to retirement, including design, governance and data quality processes. Hobart will cover topics such as using metrics to make informed business decisions, utilizing the correct metrics, measuring parameters in your business and the relevancy of metrics.
After starting his career in geophysics, Hobart began working in the Data Center industry for IBM in 1982. While at Microsoft, he designed and managed most of their enterprise data centers before heading up Washington Mutual’s Data Center Design team, focused on design, process development, capacity planning, metrics and business analysis. He then started Hobart Data Center Consulting, a company specializing in government data centers. As a consultant, he worked on a number of contracts involving data center management for the federal government. For the last two years, Hobart has been a Manager of Business Development and a Solutions Architect at VMC Consulting.
