Generation IX Encourages Organizations to Be Technologically Prepared for Three Additional 2007 Daylight Savings Time Dates
April 1st, October 28th and November 4th may prove problematic for computer systems
Los Angeles, CA, March 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Generation IX, a leading information technology provider for mid- to large-sized companies and schools, has identified three additional Daylight Savings Time (DST) dates in 2007 that may pose technology issues for organizations – April 1st, October 28th, and November 4th. Generation IX encourages organizations to contact a technology expert to alleviate possible technology side effects in advance of these dates.
DST came three weeks early this year (March 11, 2007) due to the provision of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and impacted some computer systems, software and mobile devices. Some computer systems were corrected by applying automatic updates (or patches) from the system vendor in advance of March 11th. However, many computer systems may still recognize the original DST dates and encounter problems with calendering, payroll, scheduling and time-tracking.
“We believe these related DST dates are significant and encourage companies to prepare their computer systems by contacting a technology expert such as Generation IX to help with troubleshooting,” says Kevin Watne, president of Generation IX.
Daylight Savings Time Dates
* Sunday, April 1st – Original 2007 DST start date before provision
* Sunday, October 28th – Original 2007 DST end date before provision
* Sunday, November 4th – New 2007 DST end date
