Louisville, KY, July 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Remembering one’s family is part of what makes us human. For those who are left behind, we often question our own mortality and perpetuate the hope that our loved ones continue in a better place. The living seeks out artists to memorialize the dead and to express these feelings, hopes and beliefs. These subsequent works of art also exhibit a testament to the history of time and place of the people who have gone before us.

Kaviar Forge & Gallery offers the opportunity for a reinvigorated look at cemetery art with “Monuments, Benches and Urns: Artistic Visions of the Hereafter.” This group exhibition featuring eight exceptional Kentucky area artists demonstrates the possibilities sculpture has to express remembrance, consolation, reconciliation, and deep familial love.

Coming from a variety of different artistic backgrounds, these sculptors wield their materials in a range of different styles: from intricate and elaborate to simple and organic. Iron, bronze, stone, and wood take on new meaning when families and artists collaborate to create works that transcend commercially available options. Many of the artists featured in this show design artwork on commission to achieve a more personalized piece for the family.
