Stand-Up Comedian Jeff Allen Joins Yakov Smiroff Stand Up for Joplin's Benefit Comedy Show

Nashville, TN, July 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Nationally renowned TV star and stand-up comedian, Jeff Allen, joined the line-up of some of the biggest names in stand-up comedy in aid of RebuildJoplin.org at the Taylor Performing Arts Center in Joplin, MO on July 19th hosted by Yakov Smirnoff.

The comedy show featured performances by stand-up comedy veteran Brett Butler (Grace Under Fire), David Koechner (Anchorman, The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, The Office), Bill Chott (Dude, Where's My Car, SNL, The Ringer, Wizards of Waverly Place), Michael Jr. (Comedy Central, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, BET's Comic View, Jimmy Kimmel) and the critically acclaimed stand-up comedy of Yakov Smirnoff.

"It's amazing these great stand-up comedians have cleared their schedules to make this happen," states Yakov. "The goal was not only to raise a lot of money for Joplin but most importantly to raise the spirit of this community."

Jeff Allen has been doing his award winning stand-up comedy for four decades, starred in the critically acclaimed film Apostles of Comedy, appeared in the Warner Bros. comedy film Thou Shalt Laugh, his comedy special Happy Wife, Happy Life® is on national television, he's been featured on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, HBO, Showtime, VH1 and the Grand Ole Opry, performed at the Inaugural Gala for President George W Bush’s Inauguration, and headlines his own national comedy tour.

Yakov Presents, Stand Up for Joplin took place on Tuesday July 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Taylor Performing Arts Center at MSSU.
