D.S.R. Demolition’s Sweet Charity
The Rotherham based demolition firm has made a donation to a local cancer care unit.
Rotherham, United Kingdom, July 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- DSR Demolition is proud to support a very worthy cause in the shape of the Sheffield Macmillan Unit for Palliative Care.
The South Yorkshire based demolition firm donated £750 to the palliative care unit, which provides 18 inpatient beds at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
The Unit is worth its weight in gold, as the both directors of DSR, Dominic and Simon Ogden, know from experience.
“Our father, Fred Ogden, was treated at the Unit during a long battle with cancer before his sad passing in August 2009,” says Dominic. “We know what outstanding work the staff do there, and we wanted to make a contribution in our dad’s memory.”
Fred Ogden was a respected figure in the demolition and explosives industry, being one of the founder members of the Institute of Explosives Engineers. Simon Ogden and his mother Dawn Ogden presented the cheque the Macmillan Unit as a sign of continuing support for cancer care.
Fred’s sons continue to run the family business at DSR and the hospital links continue: the reputable firm recently completed a large asbestos removal and demolition project at Barnsley Hospital as well as winning two forthcoming jobs of a similar nature at Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust.
Look out for future hospital redevelopment and charitable work from DSR Demolition.
