New Luxury Charity Wedding Auction is Largest of Its Kind
Wish Upon a Wedding Announces its Newest Fund Raiser, Bid Your Wish For Wedded Bliss, a Luxury Online Wedding Auction to Raise Funds for the Nonprofit Organization to Enhance its Programming Services.
San Francisco, CA, July 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Today Wish Upon a Wedding announced its second annual Bid Your Wish for Wedded Bliss, an online charity auction offering hundreds of items for couples about to be wed or those looking for unique gift ideas. The auction will launch on September 1, bringing hundreds of once in a lifetime experiences in the realms of weddings, travel, entertainment, luxury, and fashion to the fingertips of bidders throughout the nation.

Proceeds will help the organization grant Wedding Wishes for individuals facing terminal illness and other serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.
Launched in January of 2010, the nonprofit has held on to their initial dream of reuniting family members for every single Wish they provide, but has so far not raised enough funds to offer this service. The Wishes granted by the nonprofit often serve as the last time a family will be together before a Recipient passes. Wish Upon a Wedding hopes someday to provide airfare for up to four of the Wish Recipients’ family members, hotel accommodations, and other miscellaneous things the couples “wish” for to make their dream weddings come true. They believe the public’s participation in Bid Your Wish for Wedded Bliss can help them reach that goal.
Founder Liz Guthrie explains the organization’s need, “One of our couples is going to be granted a wedding soon in Ohio. The bride is currently undergoing chemotherapy, due to a variety of terminal illnesses she battles and the groom is a lymphoma cancer survivor. We are disheartened that his parents cannot afford airfare from California to attend the wedding.” Guthrie continues, “Wish Upon a Wedding must secure enough funding (or donated miles) to secure airline tickets for every single Wish we grant, so that it is fair to all Recipients. It’s the only way we can ensure these families will be brought together in such situations.”
Bid Your Wish for Wedded Bliss is now accepting donations of unique honeymoons, wedding gowns, jewelry, bridal party attire, event planning services, coveted experiences, and luxury merchandise. Bidding begins September 1.
