Best-Selling Author Terri L. Fivash Continues Cancelled Series as E-Books
Fivash turned to e-publishing after the cancellation of the popular Dahveed series.
St Joseph, MI, July 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Best-selling author Terri L Fivash turned to e-publishing when unforeseen circumstances resulted in the cancellation of her Dahveed series on the biblical king David.
"Nobody expected this to happen," Fivash said. "The cancellation came after the book was already edited for press and less than 8 weeks from the release date. I had no idea how I was going to get this third book in the series to the public as promised."
E-publishing was the answer. Fivash's husband printed off an online article by Carol Memmott from the February 9, 2011 issue of USA Today. It explained the basics of the process and included links to both Kindle Direct Publishing at Amazon, and Pub-It at Barnes and Noble.
"Just 4 weeks to the day after reading that article, I released Dahveed 3: Yahweh's Fugitive in both Amazon and Barnes and Noble e-stores," Fivash commented. "Both companies provided clear, easy-to-follow instructions on how to prepare a manuscript for e-publishing, and my editors at the publishing house helped in every way they could after the cancellation. I was very thankful I could provide the book to readers in this format. But I still receive frequent inquiries regarding hard copy release. I don't have an answer for them yet!"
Fivash is a Christian author who not only takes the Biblical record seriously, but the historical and archaeological evidence also. With a Masters degree in History, Fivash knows how to do historical research, evaluate sources and analyze information.
"I discovered that placing biblical characters within the culture and thinking of the Ancient Near East made sense of so much which is hard to understand about the Bible stories," she said. "That cultural background allows readers to identify with the character, live the story with them, and see the way God worked for them. It makes a tremendous difference."
Fivash has written 4 books previous to Dahveed 3. Her first book tells the story of Joseph and his brothers, and her second is about Ruth and Boaz. The Dahveed series begins with Yahweh's Chosen, and continues with Yahweh's Warrior. Volumes 4-6 are forthcoming, with a tentative release date of Fall 2011 for book 4, Yahweh's Soldier. Further information is available at the author's web site www.terrilfivash.com and she has just begun a blog site http://terrilfivash.blogspot.com
