Pekasus: Factory of Animated Dreams Releases Book Two in the “Spark the Stone Man” Fantasy Series for Readers of All Ages

Written by visionary author and philosopher, Asya Pekurovskaya, Spark the Stone Man recounts a young boy’s adventures in a world where the physical reality and the reality of the mind coexist, albeit sometimes in challenging disarray.

Palo Alto, CA, July 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Pekasus: Factory of Animated Dreams, today announced the publication of its newest book in its on-going series, Spark the Stone Man.

Written by visionary author and philosopher, Asya Pekurovskaya, Spark the Stone Man recounts a young boy’s adventures in a world where the physical reality and the reality of the mind coexist, albeit sometimes in challenging disarray.

According to Ms. Pekurovskaya, Spark’s adventures lead him through a magical world from the ice-covered Granite Mountain to subtropical Lemon Drop Valley. Not unlike Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, in Spark’s world the boundary between the real and the imaginary is often blurred.

“Spark’s true dwelling,” says Ms. Pekurovskaya, “is his mind. That’s how he perceives the world. In the hands of young readers, his tale will hopefully encourage them to pursue their own dreams as inventors, writers, and visionaries.”

The book’s 16 full-color illustrations are the handiwork of British Academy Award recipient and Oscar nominee, Olga Titova. Another key participant in the project is animation director Aida Zyablikova, also a British Academy Award recipient and Oscar nominee.

Ms. Pekurovskaya says there will eventually be six books in the Spark’s series. Two have now been published and two more are waiting in the wings. She is currently at work finishing the final two. Each book, she says, stands on its own but also builds upon earlier books and the Spark the Stone Man cosmology. The entire series was envisioned by Ms. Pekurovskaya as the launching point for an animated feature film.

The author of several adult books of philosophy and literature, she credits the birth of her grand-daughter, Stella, for the inspiration to write a story for young people.

The first book in the Spark the Stone Man series received enthusiastic reviews from professional reviewers and regular readers alike. One reviewer commented that the author, Ms. Pekurovskaya, provides “an intriguing twist on many concepts of fantasy with her own brand of magic and wonder.” Another reader noted: “This cryptic tale from a magical author will not disappoint either real children or the child in older readers.”

The latest release (ISBN 978-0-9828487-3-9) is available now in hard cover from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Kepler’s Books, and Unique Books.
