Sea Island Coffee Wins More Golds at the Great Taste Awards 2011
Sea Island Coffee proudly announce that they have been awarded gold stars for two of their coffees in the Great Taste Awards 2011. This takes the number of award winning coffees at Sea Island Coffee from two to four.
London, United Kingdom, July 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sea Island Coffee Ltd., one of Europe’s leading specialists in rare and exotic coffees, has won yet more Gold Awards at the Great Taste Awards in July 2011.
Guy Wilmot, Manager of Sea Island Coffee said, “We won two Gold Stars this year. The first, the Coffea Diversa Costa Rica Geisha is produced from one of the Ethiopian wild coffee varieties. It has a soft, delicate profile with quietly complex aromatics with notes of lavender, cocoa and hints of molasses. It’s grown on the Coffea Diversa plantation in Costa Rica, close to the Panamanian border and the plantation itself is incredibly special as it grows the largest number of different coffee varieties in the world.”
Guy Wilmot continued, “The second that won a Gold Star award was the Puerto Rico 360 Reserva, which is produced by the Atienza and Fortuño Seitzer families on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. This is a very fine coffee indeed and is partly grown on the Tres Picachos Forest Reserve in the central part of the island at over 1000 metres above sea level. Production is limited to just 1000 bags annually allowing for strict quality control and the result is a versatile coffee equally suitable for cafetiére or espresso with a full body that engulfs the mouth, buttery tones and a dark chocolate finish.”
