LRA Worldwide Vice President of Marketing Zach Conen Appointed Adjunct Instructor at Northeastern University
Horsham, PA, March 29, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Zach Conen, Vice President of Marketing for LRA Worldwide, Inc., was recently appointed as an adjunct instructor in the Sports Leadership program at Northeastern University. Conen will teach a graduate level course in Corporate Sponsorships in an online setting beginning in April of 2007; many of the program’s courses are offered online to allow for student participation outside of the immediate Boston area.
Northeastern’s Master of Sports Leadership program is designed to provide professional preparation for leadership positions within the sports industry. Administered as a joint partnership between the Northeastern Athletics Department and the University’s nationally renowned Center for the Study of Sport in Society, the degree program is a practice-oriented course of study that is structured to accommodate mid-career athletic administrators and coaches, as well as individuals seeking to prepare for careers in the industry.
“I’ve held Zach in high regard since he was a colleague of mine at Temple University,” explained Dave O’Brien, Director of Athletics at Northeastern. “When this opportunity became available, I immediately felt his combination of experience within the sports industry and business consulting would be of great value to the students in the Sports Leadership program.”
In his current role, Conen is charged with stimulating LRA's growth through a variety of marketing, public relations, branding and business development initiatives. LRA, a leader in the rapidly-growing consulting discipline of Customer Experience Management (CEM), has a number of clients in the sports industry, including the National Basketball Association, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Boston Bruins, the PGA TOUR, and the Washington Nationals, among others. Prior to joining LRA, Conen served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales and Marketing at Temple University, as well as in a variety of sales, marketing and promotions positions with the Reading Phillies (Reading, PA) and Wilmington Blue Rocks (Wilmington, DE) of Minor League Baseball.
“Our strategy as a company is centered around hiring the best and the brightest to grow the business and serve our clients,” said Rob Rush, CEO of LRA Worldwide. “Zach’s appointment at Northeastern is an ancillary benefit of that strategy and is indicative of our desire to cultivate a level of thought leadership in all of the industries we serve.”
For his role as an adjunct in Northeastern’s Online and Distance Learning Program, Conen earned an official certification as an E-Learning instructor. The Corporate Sponsorships class, which is being offered for Northeastern’s 2007 Spring Quarter, is designed to help students develop a complete understanding of how sports properties can create effective commercial partnerships with corporations through the creation and execution of sponsorship agreements.
