International Profit Associates Invited to Attend Clinton Global Initiative NYC 2005

Managing Director John Burgess and President Gregg Steinberg were invited to attend the Clinton Global Initiative with distinguished and dedicated leaders to address current global challenges.

Buffalo Grove, IL, October 10, 2005 --(PR.com)-- International Profit Associates Managing Director John Burgess and President Gregg Steinberg were invited to and attended the Clinton Global Initiative, held in New York City, September 15-17, 2005.

The inaugural meeting coincided with the Millennium Summit of this fall’s U.N. General Assembly. This event brought together King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, Monarch of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Leonel Fernandez Reyna, President of the Dominican Republic, Olusegun Obasanjo, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Tony Blair, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations, Shimon Peres, Vice Prime Minister of Israel, Dr. Hernando de Soto, Founder and President of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy and an array of other distinguished and dedicated leaders.

This nonpartisan conference concentrated through diverse and select group of current and former heads of state, business leaders, noteworthy academicians and key NGO representatives to identify immediate and pragmatic solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. The workshops focused on how to reduce poverty; use religion as a force for reconciliation and conflict resolution; implement new business strategies and technologies to combat climate change; and strengthen governance.

Burgess and Steinberg attended individual sessions which included discussions among the participants on meeting global challenges. Burgess participated in the sessions on global warming and poverty, while Steinberg attended the sessions on global governance and poverty.

By identifying specific ways to address the challenges of our time and asking each participant to make a specific commitment to take action in one of the areas discussed, the President’s initiative proves to be a unique and effective forum for leaders and their communities around the world. Each participant was asked to make a pledge to do what they could to alleviate one of the major concerns anywhere in the world.

International Profit Associates pledged to provide $10,000,000 in small and medium sized enterprise assistance precipitated by the need for disaster recovery. International Profit Associates will immediately assist 1,000 small and medium sized enterprises that have been negatively impacted by Hurricane Katrina and subsequent medium sized enterprises negatively affected in future disasters.

“In an era where global leadership and vision is absolutely necessary, President Clinton through his Global Initiative has taken an unprecedented step toward resolving the world’s major problems,” said Gregg M. Steinberg, president of International Profit Associates. “We look forward to working with the President and all the participants of his Global Initiative in enabling his vision to become a reality.”

President Bill Clinton and the William J. Clinton Foundation have launched the Clinton Global Initiative to help the world move beyond the current state of globalization to a more integrated global community of shared benefits, responsibilities and values. The mission of the William J. Clinton Foundation, and the goal of this Initiative, is to increase the benefits and reduce the burdens of global interdependence; to make a world of more partners and fewer enemies; and to give more people the tools they need to build a better future.

The Clinton Global Initiative is a non-partisan endeavor, bringing together a carefully selected group of the world’s best minds and most distinguished problem solvers to focus on practical, effective measures that can be taken now.
