Antoine Dubeauclard Launches Fundraising Efforts for a Detroit Documentary
Troy, MI, July 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Antoine Dubeauclard, President of the Internet services firm Media Genesis, has launched a fundraising campaign to create a Detroit documentary series.
The documentary, titled “Paint D Town,” will be created in graffiti and digital art using the city as the canvas. Time-lapse and stop-motion techniques are planned to bring native Detroit art to life and give the film a unique texture and format.
“It’s going to be both about the history of Detroit, starting with the founding in 1701, and the creative spirit that’s always lived here,” Dubeauclard said.
Dubeauclard is hoping to raise $5,500 by September 5. Fundraising efforts are being conducted on KickStarter.com. Donations start at $1 and anyone can donate and receive rewards as a project backer. According to KickStarter, they are “the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world.”
Detroit artists, musicians, writers, videographers, and business leaders have been enlisted to participate in the funding process as well as the planned documentary production.
Antonio “Shades” Agee, a graffiti artist participating in the Paint D Town project, has been creating graffiti art for more than 20 years. His work has been featured in the Detroit Institute of Arts and he has created custom murals and canvases for Chrysler, Ford, Universal Studios, Quicken Loans, and other national and international clients.
“The city of Detroit has a lot of richness in the art field,” Agee said of the subject of this documentary.
