Spooner Health System Chooses HospitalPortal.net
Critical access hospital brings key resources online.
Rolling Meadows, IL, August 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Spooner Health System, Spooner WI, reports that they have gone live with the Intranet Portal provided by HospitalPortal.net. This decision presents Spooner Health System with their first intranet which has allowed for decentralized content management and policy and procedure workflow automation. Previously Spooner had relied on a static intranet page that was managed by the IT staff.
“After implementing our EMR system we felt that it was important to bring our communications to one centralized place,” said Mike DiPasquale, director of information technology. “Additionally we felt it was important to organize our key documents and policies in one place so our staff can quickly and easily find the most up to date policy.”
HospitalPortal.NET is a leading provider of secure healthcare-specific intranet sites for electronic information sharing and information publishing. Spooner Health System is a critical access hospital that specializes in short-term inpatient and emergency hospital services. The hospital has 25 beds and a staff of 120. Recently, Spooner Health System was awarded as one of the "Most Wired" hospitals in 2011 according to the Hospital & Health Networks trade publication.
DiPasquale shared, “The staff was very eager to use it and after the training and implementation they were surprised at how easy it is to manage their own departmental content.”
“Our users were asking for access to the intranet from home, so we got the Login Manager from HospitalPortal.net to allow for remote access,” said Jeremy Masterjohn, information technology technician. Masterjohn went on to say, “When our users began to ask for remote access, we understood how important the intranet is to the entire facility.”
DiPasquale praised the out of the box functionality of things like the built-in help desk system for work orders, which attributes to the cost effectiveness.
“We looked at a few other vendors but the price was too high for what they did. With HospitalPortal.net we now have all communications, documents, meeting room schedules and work orders in one central place for a very affordable price,” DiPasquele stated.
