Elvis "The King" Presley Tribute Returns to Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino
Dover, DE, July 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will celebrate legendary music icon, Elvis Presley, with its Second Annual Elvis Tribute Competition & Festival on August 26 & 27. A competition to determine the best Elvis tribute artist will be presented in a series of competitive performances throughout the weekend.
Beginning Friday, August 26, contestants will perform publicly in locations around the property, with a panel of judges following closely. Preliminary stage competitions begin at 8 p.m. in Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Judges will assess and valuate contestants on a combination of overall look, voice, costume, and audience participation/reaction.
On Saturday, Aug. 27, Elvis Trivia and Karaoke will begin at 7 p.m. in Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Competition will resume at 8 p.m. when contestants vie for a “now or never” position in the semi-finals. Final performances begin at 9 p.m., and a winner will be announced at 10 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded. The 2010 first place winner was Andy Svrcek of Cressona, Pa., who competed with semi-finalists from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.
Antique and classic cars will be on display throughout the weekend, along with Elvis memorabilia and souvenirs. All restaurants on the property will feature Elvis’s favorite foods including grilled peanut butter/honey/banana sandwiches, meatloaf, spaghetti stir fry, banana pudding, pepper steak, Southern pecan pie, tortilla soup and broccoli casserole.
Tickets are $15 for each evening and will be available at the door of Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The event is proudly sponsored by Pepsi, NKS Distributors, GT Vodka, AMP Energy, and Gentleman Jack.
