Country Recording Artist Lisa Matassa to Perform at Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund Pink Penguin Bash
Country music recording artist, Lisa Matassa, will make an appearance and perform at tomorrow night’s 1st annual Carol M. Baldwin Pink Penguin Bash for Breast Cancer research and awareness.
Plainview, NY, July 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As the sons of breast cancer survivor, Carol Baldwin, actors Alec, Billy, Stephen and Daniel Baldwin along with their mother have established the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Tomorrow evening, July 30, 2011, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund will throw its 1st annual Pink Penguin Bash for breast cancer research and awareness on New York’s Long Island.
Tomorrow evening’s Pink Penguin Bash will feature appearances by Long Island’s own country music star Lisa Matassa, as well as Lita Ford, American Idol season 10 contestant Robbie Rosen, New York Jets player Mark Sanchez, Randy Jackson from the group Zebra, QVC network models, and of course, Alec, Stephen, Daniel and Billy Baldwin. The event will be hosted by DJ Fingers.
Lisa Matassa will perform a four song acoustic set at tomorrow’s Pink Penguin Bash with guitarist JD Leonard as her accompaniment. Matassa’s live set will include her single “Me Time” which is getting radio airplay at more than a dozen country format radio stations in major markets across the U.S. In addition, Matassa will also play three new songs from her upcoming LP, Sunrise Highway.
Lisa Matassa has been creating buzz around her hometown of Long Island, New York, and enjoying radio airplay and ongoing support from Long Island’s first country radio station, WJVC My Country 96.1 FM. Upon hearing about Matassa through JVC radio, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund contacted Matassa requesting an appearance and live musical performance for their 1st annual Pink Penguin Bash, and Matassa instantly agreed.
“My beloved aunt passed away in November from Breast Cancer and I was honored to be asked to be a part of this important event,” explains Matassa. “The Baldwin brothers have been working tirelessly to continue to raise awareness for Breast Cancer research in hopes of eventually finding a cure to this devastating disease, and I want to do my part to help.”

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc. will support both new and established researchers at University Hospital and Medical Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and other outstanding Academic Institutions, investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This research will include - but not be limited to - studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of breast cancer; application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer; and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment on the patient, their families and society.
