DiscountRamps.com Ranks in Internet Retailer Top 500
West Bend, WI, July 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- DiscountRamps.com, a West Bend-based online retailer that offers a wide range of access ramps, storage containers and vehicle accessories, has made the 2010 Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide list for the 3rd consecutive year.
Based on annual web sales eclipsing $18 million, DiscountRamps.com was ranked No. 417 among the largest Web merchants in North America.
Climbing from a No. 425 ranking in 2009, Discount Ramps has made it to the IR Top 500 by expanding its inventory and web offerings to over 11,000 different items.
Company President and CEO Joel Lederhause said the key to his success is a detailed website, rapid product shipment and a strategic no-fear attitude towards online marketing.
“Since the start of the recession, we have really focused on entering new markets and expanding our product offerings into other areas we have not been involved in before,” said Lederhause. “This has allowed us to maintain growth through the tough economic times by identifying product segments that have not been as affected by the economy as some of our traditional marketplaces.”
Marketing statistics outlined in the IR Top 500 show Discount Ramps generates over a half-million monthly visitors that spend an average $200.
Established in 2001, Discount Ramps was praised by Internet Retailer for its use of social networks and online marketplaces including YouTube, Facebook, and Google Product Search.
“A growth rate in sales of 11% in 2010 demonstrates that Discount Ramps is an established niche web retailer with an active customer base,” said Kurt Peters, editor in chief of Internet Retailer.
This is the third year Discount Ramps was selected to the IR Top 500.
“Discounts Ramps made the Top 500 list once again by virtue of their staying power as an online retailer,” says Mark Brohan, vice president of research for Internet Retailer and editor of the Top 500 Guide.
A vital industry resource, the Top 500 Guide provides individual company profiles, including corporate strategies, merchandising and marketing tactics.
The Top 500 was officially announced at the Internet Retailer Convention & Exhibition June 14-17 in San Diego.
Lederhause was one of the IRCE Spotlight Speakers at this year’s Internet Retailer conference in San Diego.
