Guests will embark on a journey of a Restorative Retreat through Yoga, Wellness and Fitness and volunteer some of their time with local San Miguel de Allende organization, Casa de Los Angeles, all while indulging in the beautiful backdrop of San Miguel de Allende.
Destination:PEACE was born out of an idea to create unique, meaningful volunteer experiences all while luxuriating in a beautiful setting. San Miguel de Allende and Sagrada Wellness Mexico not only offer the beautiful setting but also the means to create a unique volunteer experience. Guests will be staying at Sagrada Wellness Mexico and working hand and hand with local organization, Casa de Los Angeles.
Sagrada Wellness Mexico is perched in the scenic mountains that overlook the 16th-century Mexican Colonial city of San Miguel de Allende. Sagrada feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Guests will stay in charming adobe cabanas, rejuvenate with daily yoga classes, morning meditation walks and enjoy nourishing gourmet meals in the Mexican antique adorned lodge. “Sagrada” which means sacred, is a true reflection of the beauty, historic landmarks, healing energy and eco-design that grace the 15-acre sanctuary. And it doesn’t end here.
Casa de Los Angeles is a group of caring people who gather to nurture children, serving the needs of the less fortunate, treating each person with dignity and respect as they work to make a better life for themselves and the community as a whole. Many people have traveled to Casa de los Angeles to work at the daycare facilities and in other various projects that benefit the families and children served. They have had over 1200 volunteers join them from 18 countries. Some of the volunteer experiences are: feeding babies, rocking infants to sleep, construction jobs around the Casa, teaching about basic hygiene, cooking and much more.
Guests can count on spending around 2-3 hours per volunteer event pitching in. “We are honored to be working hand in hand with Casa de Los Angeles and other community volunteers, these experiences will be a once in a lifetime event., “ says Katherine Fisher, Founder of Destination:PEACE and Retreat Coordinator at Sagrada Wellness Mexico.
