Spirit had a difficult childhood in a middle class family. His mother was in and out of psychiatric hospitals and his father had little time for him. Exposure to pornography at an early age caused further damage to his psyche. As a teenager he was isolated and troubled and spent time in mental institutions himself. His entire adult life he has struggled to achieve a balance between his material and spiritual needs. The past ten years have been a spiritual awakening for Spirit.
