34th Annual VA State Champion Auctioneer Contest
Virginia's finest auctioneers will compete before a live public audience selling various useful and unique items while competing for the title of 2011-2012 Virginia State Champion Auctioneer.
Richmond, VA, August 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Virginia auctioneers to compete for state’s top bid-caller Saturday, August 6th, 2011.
The Virginia Auctioneers Association invites all members of the news media to cover the 34th Annual Grand Champion Auction Competition in Powhatan, VA on Saturday, August 6th. The event will be held at the following address:

Event start time: 6:00 PM
The event grades auctioneers on chant, rhythm, presence and auction ability. For decades this event has brought bid callers from every corner of Virginia to compete for the coveted title of top auctioneer. Members of the public are invited to attend and bid on the items for sale. Part of the proceeds will go to the Cancer Relay for Life.
This event promises to have great video and sound opportunities of auctioneer chants and excited bidders. Reporters will also have an opportunity to interview the Grand Champion Auctioneer, and showcase auctioneers from their coverage area in competition. With the number of auction shows on television right now, it is clear the public has a tremendous interest in auctions and the auction industry.

If you cannot attend, they will have video, natural sound and an interview available online for stations to pull from their digital drop box. The instructions are included below:
They be using digital drop-box to upload to video files, on the night of the event a press release will be send out containing winner information and two links, one a .mov file and the other.avi.
Choose which link is appropriate for your editing capabilities, then copy and paste the link into your URL browser. That will create a file that will automatically begin to download to either your desktop or a designated download folder.
Once the file is finished downloading, single click on the file and change the filename suffix to either .avi or .mov, depending on which file you downloaded.
That file is now ready to be imported into an editing platform to be edited for your air.
The clip will be a two minute edited VO followed by a three to five minute raw interview with the winner of the competition.
