Indie Alternative Duo, "The Travellers" to Release Single "Waiting" on 8th August 2011
The Sixties inspired band has chosen to partner with indie label Expat Records to release the track, which has been previously featured on BBC Berkshire.
London, United Kingdom, August 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Travellers, the indie alternative duo from UK & France will be releasing the single ‘Waiting’ on 8th August. The track showcases the minimal indie side of the band who are renowned for their 60’s pop supernova of clean guitars, subtle drums and seductive vocals.
It was during their travels that ‘the Travellers’ met: Düsseldorf, Zurich, London, Roma, Stockholm, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Rennes and soon back to London. The combination of cultural experiences, landscapes seen, as well as their love for the sixties' & the seventies' psychedelia, groove & rock, paved the way for a new music project, ‘the Travellers’.
Gemma & Robert P, who make up the indie alternative duo, compose, write, produce and mix all the tracks and play all of the instruments to a backdrop of drum-loops. Although studio technology has been embraced by ‘the Travellers’, a very traditional method to writing and performing makes the music organic and human, a far cry from quantized electronica. This approach is also used when performing the band’s acoustic live set, with Gemma on vocals, Wurlitzer electric piano & melodica and Robert P on acoustic guitar.
The Travellers have earned recognition from various trusted voices in music including New Pollution’s Warren Smith who described their music as "a rarity that shines on it’s own merits.” Mark Barton from Losing today commented “Marchi’s surrendering vocal quiver - itself needing to be heard to be believed especially on ’waiting’ which aside laying you low with sympathetic pangs is trimmed to the darkening sultry purr of a youthful Chrissie Hynde.”
Jeff Libby CEO of Expat Records comments on the release, “Waiting by indie alternative duo ‘the Travellers’ is an incredible track. Listen to it and you’ll be whisked on a musical journey of sixties psychedelia and seventies groove with a modern twist. These guys are destined for great things.”
Waiting by ‘the Travellers’ is due for digital release on 8th August 2011.
