Wishing Well Intl. Foundation Challenges the Water Purification Industry to Show Their Support - Commits to Raising $30,000 to Honor the Memory of Rachel Beckwith
Deerfield Beach, FL, August 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- www.wishingwellintl.org - Rachel Beckwith was just 9 years old when she died in July; however her thirst for bringing clean drinking water to people in need must live on.
Rachel was taken off life support on Saturday July 24 after she sustained fatal injuries in a 14-vehicle pile up near her home in Bellevue, Washington three days earlier, CNN reported.

For her birthday in June she had asked her friends and relatives to donate money instead of giving her presents. Rachel was only $80 short of her modest goal of raising $300 when she died. To honor her memory Wishing Well International Foundation has started a campaign to raise $30,000 and will donate 100% of the money to projects to be coordinated with Charity: Water, the Non-Profit she chose for her fundraising efforts.

In an effort to draw an entire industry to be sensitive to the issues in developing countries, Guzman says, “It is time for the entire Water Purification Industry to show we care about the people lacking such precious resource: Water, like this little girl did. I am aware that economic times are uncertain for many companies but if we pull together I know we can make a difference. After all that is what we are all about: Providing Clean Safe Drinking Water.” Guillermo Guzman is the Founder and CEO of Wishing Well International and President of H2O International, Inc., a water filter manufacturer based in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

“If 100 of us each raised $300 (Rachel’s goal) we would meet the goal set by the Foundation. If Rachel thought this was achievable I am sure we can do the same and more. Membership of the Water Quality Association stands at 2,400 with many thousands more non-member Water Industry Professionals; so the impact we can make as an industry is huge,” added Guzman whose company is a member of the Water Quality Association.

Everyone is welcome to get involved and the more people the better it is for the Foundation and its ambitious goals. The Foundation rose over $ 15,000 at a recent event in Lighthouse Point.
