Salt Lake City Network Security and IT Company Attends DEFCON
Wazi Technical Solutions, a Salt Lake City based network security firm, attends DEFCON 19
Salt Lake City, UT, August 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Wazi Technical Solutions, a Salt Lake City based IT support and network security (i.e. penetration testing) firm, attends DEFCON 19. DEFCON is the world’s largest and longest running security conference, which started in 1992 by the Dark Tangent. WaziTech will learn the latest vulnerabilities and exploit methods from the experts and receive the tools to detect, prevent and defend against these issues. Wazi will attend presentations given by some of the top security professionals in the industry and discuss some of the most pressing concerns.
This year, Wazi will focus on Cloud Computing security and understanding the affects it has on small business environments. Some of the other topics Wazi will focus on are: Penetration Testing, printer security, TCP/IP issues, Kernel Exploitation, Malware, SSL, Google Chrome, .Net Application Security and Wireless Security.
The topics learned at DEFCON help to increase the expertise Wazi provides with a standard network penetration test. A penetration test is a method of evaluating the security of a network by simulating a malicious attack. The process involves an analysis of the system for any potential vulnerabilities that could result from poor or improper system configuration or operational weaknesses in process or technical countermeasures. Any security issues that are found will be presented to the system owner, together with an assessment of their impact and a proposal for mitigation or a technical solution. The intent of a penetration test is to determine the feasibility of an attack and the amount of business impact of a successful exploit.
