Toastmasters District 83 Installs Executive Officers and District Council at Annual Hail and Farewell Celebration
Clifton, NJ, August 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Toastmasters District 83 installed Lisa Pantano, DTM as District Governor at their annual Hail & Farewell Brunch held at the Ramada Inn Conference Center in East Hanover. As the 2011-2012 District Governor, Lisa succeeds Tom Somers, DTM (2010-2011 Governor) of Toastmasters District 83.
As part of the Hail and Farewell celebration, outgoing District Governor Tom Somers, DTM was recognized for his leadership in a year where the district earned many awards, including the Distinguished District Award. Under Tom’s leadership, District 83 earned the Excellence in Leadership Award, for being distinguished three years in a row. Other members of the District 83 leadership team, Lt. Governor, Pamela Winter earned the Excellence in Marketing and Lt. Governor Lisa Pantano earned the Excellence in Education and Training Award.
More than 80 member earned awards from the district for sponsoring members, mentoring clubs, getting three educational awards and coaching a club. District 83 had a total of 614 educational awards, which included Competent Communicator (CC), Advanced Communicator (AC), Competent Leader (CL), Advanced Leader (AL) and Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). 107 clubs earned District incentive awards.
The afternoon concluded with the induction of the Officers and District Council for the year 2011-2012, which began July 1, 2011. The new slate of Officers are: District Governor: Lisa Pantano, DTM; Lieutenant Governor Education & Training: Pamela Winter, DTM; Lt. Governor Marketing: Cyndi Wilson, DTM; Public Relations Officer: Anna D. Banks, CC-CL; Immediate Past District Governor: Thomas Somers, DTM; Treasurer: William Markert, ADB-CL; Secretary: Kimberly Start, CC-CL; Division A Governor: Luz Guzman ACS; Division B Governor: Paula Markert ACB-ALS; Division C Governor: Anne Gilson ACS-ALB; Division D Governor: Sandra Scharf, DTM; Division E Governor: Rachel Weiss ACB-ALB; and Division F Governor: Mary Ellen Burns, ACB,CL.
The installation ceremony was performed by Paul Scharf, DTM3, Past District 83 Governor (2008-2009).
