Protochips Expands Its Distribution Network
Protochips expands its distribution network to nine partners with the additions of Angstrom Scientific, JoeXray, and PicoScientific.
Raleigh, NC, August 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Protochips (http://www.protochips.com), a company specializing in revolutionary products for in situ electron microscopy, today announced the domestic and international expansion of the distribution network for the Aduro™ and Poseidon™ product lines. The continued growth of the Protochips distribution network reflects increased demand as well as the corporate objective to deliver exceptional customer service. The most recent additions to the Protochips’ distribution network include:
Angstrom Scientific – Principals Evan Slow and Bob Summerville bring over 40 years of knowledge and experience in the field of scientific and semiconductor equipment analysis. This experience has helped to cultivate strong relationships within the electron microscopy industry. Angstrom will represent Protochips in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest (eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, eastern North Carolina, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota).
JoeXray – Founder Joe Ullmer leads JoeXray, which is based in Dayton, Ohio. With over 26 years in the EM/EDX industry JoeXray has the knowledge and experience necessary to provide quality customer service. JoeXray also has developed the technical competence to service the unique needs of researchers in the field of electron microscopy. JoeXray will represent Protochips the states of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, and western Pennsylvania.
PicoScientific – Based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, PicoScientific has a stronghold in the southeastern United States. A dynamic and forward thinking nanotechnology company, PicoScientific is poised for continued growth within the Electron Microscopy industry. PicoScientific will be responsible for Protochips distribution in the following areas, western North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
The distributors join the existing team of international distributors including JEOL, Ltd. which last year became a distribution partner for JEOL customers throughout Asia and Oceania. “With the expansion of our distributor network we are now able to better serve customers throughout the US and the world,” said David Nackashi, the CEO of Protochips, Inc.
Previously, electron microscopy was limited to imaging samples at room temperature. Researchers who needed to study high temperature reactions had to start a reaction at high temperature and then cool the sample before imaging, creating only a snapshot of the reaction. The Aduro™ system has revolutionized electron microscopy by imaging in real time at temperatures up to 1200 C. Researchers can now complete real time, dynamic thermal studies in high resolution. The Aduro™ E-chip™ consumables are customized to meet the exact needs of an experiment. E-chip™ sample supports replace the traditional TEM grid while providing electrical, thermal, or electro-thermal stimulus to the supported specimen.
The Poseidon™ system is a liquid based system that allows for the imaging of both material and biological samples. Samples that previously required freezing or were unable to be imaged live can now be studied directly in their native environment in real time. The Poseidon E-chip™ consumables increase flexibility by allowing customization of volume and flow path on a per-experiment basis.
These three distributors will distribute durable items, Aduro™ and Poseidon™ as well as the corresponding E-chip™ consumables. Protochips is excited about the continued growth of the distribution network and the quality of the current distribution members. Michael Zapata, the Executive Chairman of Protochips said “To serve innovative researchers world wide you need not only the best products, but also the best distribution network. We have now taken another step toward that objective.”
Protochips, located in Raleigh, NC, is a company providing revolutionary products and technologies for the in situ electron microscopy market for more than eight years. Through their innovative E-Chip™ consumable technology, Protochips is fundamentally changing the way in situ microscopy is performed. The E-Chip™ platform is the engine that drives Protochips Aduro™ and Poseidon™ in situ solution, providing temperature and electrical in situ capabilities and the Poseidon™ for liquid in situ capabilities.
