The Hot New Baby Wear Designer This Fall is... Your Toddler?
Contest to discover a new baby wear designer, deadline September 15th. No experience necessary. There will be two winners, one under the age of 11, who will have their designs manufactured and sold, with their own label, in a retail store.
New York, NY, August 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- This fall two new designer labels will hit the racks of Petunia, the upscale children's boutique in Sunnyside, Queens thanks to the Search for a Design Star contest. The winners probably won't be professional designers. They may not have had any design experience at all and one of them will be under age 11.
The contest is being launched on July 28th by Imagine This BabyWear, Petunia Children’s Boutique and Queensmamas, the online parent's guide.
Each contestant will design a romper using a template included in a free designer kit provided by Imagine This. The winners' designs will be manufactured complete with their own designer labels and hangtags. One of each outfit will be presented to the designers to keep, and the rest of the line will be for sale this fall at Petunia. Each designer will be featured in a profile and fashion spread in Queensmamas.com, the Queens parenting website. All proceeds from sales of the outfits will go to Sunnyside Community Services, an organization that has served the communities of western Queens since 1974.
To try your hand at designing a romper and maybe becoming a baby wear design superstar, go to queensmamas.com to download your free designer’s kit or stop by Petunia at 46-21 Skillman Avenue. Or, if you'd like a little help and/or socializing while you design, drop by for one of the free design workshop events at Petunia.
