How to Improve the Analytical Approach at the 3rd SCIP Latin American Competitive Intelligence Conference
The Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and Informa present the 3rd Latin American Competitive Intelligence Summit, October 4-6, 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil. A featured session by Fernando Domingues shows several ways analysts can improve their approach to analysis.
Alexandria, VA, August 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Many practitioners have difficulties interpreting the information they have and providing sound conclusions to their decision-makers. Analysts need to understand how to approach the analytical process in order to improve their capability to deal with ambiguous situations, lack or excess of information, and pressure for early judgment.
This topic will be addressed at the SCIP Latin American Competitive Intelligence Conference by Fernando Domingues Jr. from Mentor Consulting. “The problem with analysis is dealing with the complexity of the world, the volume of information available and how to make sense of them,” said Fernando. “The session will look how our mind works in this environment, the influence of our mental models and judgment on formulation of the outcomes. Bringing to conscious the mental tools we use on this process will clarify to the practitioner on how to use these capabilities to produce a better result.”
The comprehension of what is involved in the analytical process will bring new perspectives to the practice of the attendees. They will understand what the real meaning of developing analysis is, how to avoid mistakes, and improve the outcomes of the analytical process. They will also learn about the role of mental models and cognitive bias in analysis, and how to use them in their favor.
