Carolina Mudcats to Host Montgomery Biscuits in Five-Game Homestand
Aug. 11-15 Home Series Will Include Thirsty Thursday, Philanthropy Friday, Other Promotions
Zebulon, NC, August 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Carolina Mudcats (http://www.carolinamudcats.com), Wake County’s hometown professional baseball team, has announced the team’s upcoming five-game home series against the Montgomery Biscuits starting Thursday, Aug. 11 through Monday, Aug. 15. Thursday, Friday and Monday’s games all have start times of 7:15 p.m. Saturday’s game will begin at 6:15 p.m., and Sunday’s game will start at 2 p.m.
The game scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11 will feature Thirsty Thursday, presented by Natty Greene’s Brewing Company. Fans may purchase 12-ounce Pepsi products for only $1 and 16-ounce domestic drafts for only $2.
The Friday, Aug. 12 meeting marks Frito’s Family Friday’s. Fans have the opportunity to be chosen to participate in several ballpark activities including throwing the first pitch. Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Traveler’s Insurance and Moore & Johnson Agency, will follow the completion of the game. Scooby Doo will make an appearance, presented by Time Warner Cable.
The game will recognize Philanthropy Friday at Five County Stadium as well. Fans who bring new or gently used sports equipment to Friday’s game will receive a free general admissions ticket, through a partnership with Special Olympics North Carolina. Equipment needed for Special Olympics includes goggles, basketballs, pinnies, tennis or basketball shoes, softball or soccer cleats, gym bags, bats, gloves, batting helmets and golf club sets.
The Saturday, Aug. 13 contest will feature the Mudcats Lunch Bag Cooler Giveaway for fans 15 years or younger. The giveaway is presented by Berkshire Park Apartments. The N.C. Education Lottery will be at Five County Stadium during Saturday’s game and will have lottery prize packs and special games available. Scooby Doo will make another appearance during the same game, again presented by Time Warner Cable.
During the Sunday, Aug. 14 game, Scooby Doo will appear at Five County Stadium courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Kids Run the Bases will be featured after the completion of Sunday’s game.
The game scheduled for Monday, Aug. 15 will feature the School‘s Out Celebration. The Mudcats and schools in the Five County Stadium footprint (Wake, Johnston, Nash, Wilson, and Franklin counties) are rewarding students and teachers for their hard work and success this past school year. Students have been awarded a ticket voucher to celebrate their achievements and may redeem their voucher for a ticket to Monday’s game.
