Impact Learning Systems Helps Veterans Find Their Place
Impact Learning Systems is proud to announce a partnership with Fast Forward to help returning soldiers find steady jobs.
San Luis Obispo, CA, August 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Impact Learning Systems is an international customer service training organization that helps their clients build and maintain a strong service brand.
Fast Forward is a non-profit training center in Columbia, South Carolina that works to provide technology and education to those who have been underserved through traditional programs.
While attending CompTIA Breakaway last fall, Fast Forward’s Executive Director, Dee Albritton, met Impact Learning Systems President, Malcolm Carlaw. They came up with the idea of offering Impact’s training programs to Fast Forward’s veteran clients. Albritton says, “There is such a need in our veterans. Technology skills are there and they have had the technology training, but it’s been a long time since they have been around people in the business environment.” Impact offers the training veterans need to develop customer service skills to interact with clients.
Impact Learning Systems made 400 training programs available to Fast Forward’s veteran clients at no cost. Albritton says, “Customer service training is making the difference in getting these people hired.” Every one of Fast Forward’s clients that have gone through Impact’s training programs has gotten a job. The training puts them a step above other applicants and makes the difference in getting them hired.
This is an extraordinary partnership between corporation and nonprofit. Carlaw says, “Fast Forward is committed to helping the men and women who have served our country honorably return to be productive members of our society.” Albritton says, “Everyone is working together to make sure our returning veterans have what they need to succeed. We are creating futures.”
See what one veteran had to say in this video, titled “‘Stepping Stone’: A Video Presented by the Creating IT Futures Foundation.”
